Eat like the Pirates Do!

Irish Soda Bread

Seafair Pirates old favorite. Great with Grogg
Ingredients:.....
And you prepare it this way...
Mix well , to give a soft non-sticky dough.
Do not knead. Mix only enough to bring the dough together.
Form into a ball and flatten slightly onto a floured baking sheet.
It is traditional to cut a cross on the top of the bread.
Bake in a hot oven 220 degrees for approx 30 - 40 min, or until done.
To check for doneness turn the loaf over, tap the bottom it should sound hollow .
American and European flours differ in their absorbency of liquid so add as much as you think is necessary. if you add to much just add flour.
The bread should be eaten fresh, within two days, It can be toasted.
Vary it by adding in all types Nuts, Seeds, chopped onion, bacon. etc.
