The Seattle Seafair Pirates Official Web Site - Pirate Kings of the Northwest since 1949 It's a high-humored heist by the Seattle SEAFAIR Pirates. The salty troupe's shenanigans and formidable float, the Duck, have become synonymous with SEAFAIR revelry. The Pirates, originally members of the Washington State Press Club's Ale & Quail Society, banded together in 1949 to promote Seattle and Seafair while having fun and serving the community. Despite their bad-guy image, the Pirates make dozens of appearances annually to hospitals and nursing homes. During the height of Seattle's SEAFAIR Celebration, they appear at several events and parades each day. The 40+ Pirates are an elite troupe who carefully selects their members based on their ability to mix well with the public and for their unique musical or theatrical talents.

Ahoy Mateys! Got a question... A good mate of mine has a rare blood disorder and will be coming to Fred Hutch for a bone marrow transplant. He will need specialized housing for the six months following this procedure. Friends of his are attempting to raise funds to cover his housing needs and I thought I might AUCTION MY HAIR (and the hair goes to Fred Hutch for wigs). Highest bid gets to shave my head. Whadda think?

Ahoy, Seattle Seafair Pirates! Congratulations, Jim Edwards --- 2001 Captain Kidd of the SSP! By thunder, the puttin' on o' th' Cap'n's hat couldn't have 'appened ter a nicer Buccaneer! We here in NYC are just recoverin' from Super Bowl XXXV, and the keelhaulin' our Football Giants received at the hands o' them dirty-bird Baltimore Ravens (aarrgghh!). What makes me even grumpier than that be th' fact that our Brother Buccaneers in Ye Mystick Krewe o' Gasparilla, to say nothing o' their Pirate Invasion and Festival, were practically ignored by those scurvy CBS dogs, who obviously were too busy foistin' "Survivor: The Australian Outback" down our collective piratical throats! Aargh! Not that it matters, mateys, but I hope that next year, we Pirates will do SOMETHING what'll allow us to be treated with the proper respect an' dignity --- because, if'n 'twon't happen, ye knows that ol' Ricky th' Hawk'll be hearin' about it! And, as I always say: PIRATE POWER!

I just wanted to say lads that I like the cut of your sails. I have been pirateing for about twelve years now and I am always glad to fellow pirates out there. My crew and I perform at Renaissance festivals as well as at various local events. I also am founding an orginazation for piratical historic re-enactment. I would enjoy conversing with a fellow pirate. I look forward to hearing from you.

Unfortunately I was not elected Captain thus I do not have the authority to invite you to be Davy Jones 2001-2002, Perhaps next year!

I don't know if our Captain elect (Jim Edwards) has a commitment yet or not. If he hasn't and you are still interested, let us know.

Hey, Hoy! If this is the same Paul you told me about that called you at the meeting at Benbow's, I'm sure that Edwards would sign him up as Davey! Maybe we could have a meeting or two at his place. At least he might have some musical talent. I understand that he plays in some local band. Give him a call!
