I moved here to D.C. last December after living in the Seattle area for 30 years, so I missed the Torchlight for the first time this year : ( (sigh) I have such great memories of the parade and how loud those swords are when they scrape the cement!!! I was reading the Washington Post (www.WashingtonPost.com) and Dave Berry, famous columnist, did a hilarious column on September 15, 2002, it is regarding "Talk Like A Pirate Day" that two gentlemen were promoting. I thought you might find it interesting! (go to the website, click on the "Style" section, then click on "Columnists" scroll down to the very bottom, his column is called "Wit's End" the article I am referring to is called "Talking the Plank" and (again) it was posted on September 15, 2002. Good luck with all future endeavors! If I am ever in the Seattle area during SeaFair again, you can be sure that I will be looking for all the pirates! (Missing the Great Pacific Northwest!)
