The Seattle Seafair Pirates Official Web Site - Pirate Kings of the Northwest since 1949 It's a high-humored heist by the Seattle SEAFAIR Pirates. The salty troupe's shenanigans and formidable float, the Duck, have become synonymous with SEAFAIR revelry. The Pirates, originally members of the Washington State Press Club's Ale & Quail Society, banded together in 1949 to promote Seattle and Seafair while having fun and serving the community. Despite their bad-guy image, the Pirates make dozens of appearances annually to hospitals and nursing homes. During the height of Seattle's SEAFAIR Celebration, they appear at several events and parades each day. The 40+ Pirates are an elite troupe who carefully selects their members based on their ability to mix well with the public and for their unique musical or theatrical talents.

If I were to prepare Turtle Soup, I would incorporate a light cream sauce into a rich, fragrant brown roux using something that vaguely resembles a mortar and pestle. Just a thought.

Thank you all (Ron, Lewis, Kevin, Walter, Paul, DC, and the others) so very much for staying and entertaining not only my children, but the exiting audience from the "Pirates of Penzance" school play Feb. 8th. I can't express how very, very glad I was you chose to stay around after the snafu with the Broadway Performance Hall manager, Daryl Jamieson. Dolores the West Seattle Montessori secretary also confided that the Principal and music director were not pleased with our "surprise". But Dolores has been at the school many years and said "they'll get over it"! However, the response from the parents and students was overwhelming positive. And at the second performance Feb. 9th, I overheard children saying as they exited, "Where's the Pirates"? So you were missed and obviously a big hit from the night before. Gentlemen, I appreciate you and your attitudes. May you find "treasures" daily, Marie
