I think the seafair pirates do great for our children! OUr children today dont get to be kids most of the time. My son is raised out in snoqualmie in the woods like a man should be. You guys are great role models and we just love ya! Sincerely, jessa and kyle (age 3)
I was amiss - I inadvertently omitted my email address.
My family and I were invited to attend a Christmas party held at the Lake City Community Center on Dec. 6th. We were so pleased to be the recipients of all that was offered that day. Imagine our surprise and delight when the Seafair Pirates came into the hall! My 8 year old granddaughter squealed with delight and fright at the site of all of you. I say fright (fun fright) because she still has memories of being in open toed sandals at a parade in Kenmore this summer while one of you pirates walked up to her eyeing the wiggly toes and scraped the long sword on the ground ever so close to her piggie toes. Anyway, to make a long story short - you held equal status with Santa that day in Lake City. Thank you for being there and making such lasting memories. Bless you all. Monique and family
ahoy everyone!! wanted to say happiest holidays to all of you!! (*grumbles* still think you need a few lady pirates to even out that motley crew)
Hey Guys!!!! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE your Cayman pics...all 3-400 of them!!! Looks like you guys have a load of fun there! I also enjoyed the pics from the Seafair Families Party as well as the other new pics ya put up!! Hey, to the guy who complained this site isn't "historical" ....so, what's yer point??? If ya want historical try typin the word "historical" followed by pirate stories and I'm pretty sure sumthin will pop up for ya to read!!! The Seattle Seafair Pirates are an awesome bunch of guys dedicated to charity work, their community, their families, and to the spirit of Pirating. I'm proud to be associated with them and the other Seafair families, all of whom are dedicated to our community here in the beautiful Pacific NW! Happy New Year to all my Pirate friends and their families! See ya next year! Beth "short wench" Hughes

Ooooooooh, Jonnie! You're the coolest!
need to know more about brandi's "special pirate" so we can share the love
It's not? But I just lunch with Napoleon and he says it's dead-on!
Not a historical site? And he figured it out so fast too.
This site is so not historical. It is a fake account of the true Blackbeard. I am ticked off that you would make a pirate to be lowered to that stamena. As a pirate myself I say go Jesus.
I DEY BROTHER!
i love your show
i don de here oooooooooooooooooooooo mugu sunny kawawa
WHEN ARE YOU GUYS GOING TO UPDATE YOUR 2003 PICTURES FROM CAYMAN??? WE ARE DYING TO SEE THEM!!!! LOVE, YOUR CAYMAN FRIENDS.
I had the opportunity to meet some of you in the Cayman Islands this year, you guys are great! See you there next year. Special hello to "my pirate":)
I know it's been a while but it took me this long to realize you probably had a web site. Anyway I wanted to thank you guys for being so nice to two goofy women in Seattle on the weekend of July 18th and 19th. We were there on our annual Birthday bash getaway and had just come back from the movie Pirates of the Carrabean and lo' an behold there were pirates in the lobby of our hotel. Of course we rushed out to get a camera and one of your guys was nice enough to have his picture taken with both of us. He even granted my friend's request for a "special" pose. We are two thrity something women, my friend is a mother of two and I am single w/two jobs so our getaways mean a lot to us and having that experience gave us memories to last a long time. I would sure like to hear from our special pirate (he is blond, wears glasses). Anyway thanks again for being so gracious.

Thanks, and I look forward to hearing from you!
We love you guys! For the past ten years, we have made it a point to travel to the Grand Cayman to see the Seafair Pirates. The comraderie and brotherhood that is displayed above and beyond the joy you have given others, has even inspired my youngest son (13)to one day be a Seattle Seafair Pirate! Keep up the great work! And, to all those Captain Kidd's of the past, present and future, know that your work is loved and admired by even us Land Lubbers! Arrrrrgggghh!
Love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Party pooper!
Now Mongo, please do not have anyone place marshmallows in their mouths. Placing more than one in your mouth can be very very dangerous. So all you out there listen up. Mongo has the biggest mouth this side of christmas island. Wait does not sound good. What I mean is Mongo's has a lot of empty space. No that does not sound good either. Oh heck just do not place more than one marshmallow in your mouth at a time.
Mffph mffphmfff mff mphmppfl mfpfl. Gee! That was fifteen! How many can YOU do?
Can tell me how meny marshmallow you can put in your mouth

That's what I keep telling everyone!
You guys are great!!
I like my grog with a little Yoohoo in it.
RECIPE FOR GROG; Grog has come to refer to almost any adult beverage consumed by pirates in the moment. BUT originally "Grog" was a sailor's rum ration issued cut 50% with water. Grog was a derisive term aimed at the Admiral who began this much hated practice. — However if you really want to taste something like authentic grog try this; Combine 1 pint of rum, (of average quality). With 1 pint of water. Add the juice of three or four limes. (prevents scurvy) and about 1/2 cup of sugar cane juice. (sweetens up the mix. Specialty grocers might have bottled cane juice, but it's easier to get a hunk of sugar cane in the produce section next to the coconuts, grate it and squeeze it. — If that's too much trouble dissolve 1 or 2 tbs. of dark brown sugar in a bit of water and add it to the mix.) This is probably close to what the sailors might have tasted. Their rum would not have been as strong as ours today, and the refining process would have left it dark and sweet. Sailors would have knocked theirs down at room temperature, (warm in the steamy Caribbean) but chilled grog can make a decent summertime "punch."
Do you have a good grogg recipe????
i am new but i love your site

when did KIdd visit Seattle? Sounds like great fun!
I loves book
Hey Knowlton, saw you on the front of The Seattle Times local section today. I thought pirates tried to stay out of court, prefering to settle things in a little less ... ah ... civilized manner. I guess times change. Personally, I think you ought to keel haul the SOB. Good luck!
We enjoyed seeing the Seafair Pirates by the court house today. They are so much fun to be around. Keep up the good work. Dakarai (age 5) wanted to know if the pirates fight. I told him that they do not. Thema & Children
I work at Chucks Seafood Grotto. The day you guys came in was one of the best days Ive had at work. You can brighten up anyones day. Thank you
You guys really ROCKED the torchlight parade!! We were in Seattle for it and really had a great time. You guys inspired me so much I came home and got out some of my own pirate stuff that I had all these years and had forgotten about. I found your website and had to check it out. I noticed you're sold out of your tshirts. Will you have more, like next year? Please email me when more are available at mwmul@arrrrggghh.com Thanks!
Hallelujah, My Brother!!!
We've got trouble right here in River City, That starts with T and that rhymes with P and that stands for Pirate?
Huzzah! Well met, and keep the wind in your sails!
You guys rock!! Hope to see you all again soon!! Theres always next YEAR!!

Hello Sorry to leave the Lake City Parade so fast. Needed to be back in Ballard by 7pm. Hope you like sabors. Missed getting a book and pin this year. Is there a way to get them short of going to Seaside, Ore?Enjoy the rest of the pirate year!!!
We just wanted to say "Thank you" for stopping by Angie& Di's Seafair Party! You really made our day, continue the great work matees........arrrrrrrr
What a great opportunity to thank Gene Sykora *Captain Kidd 1968* for sponsoring my induction as an Honorary Greater Seattle Seafair Pirate and member of the Ale and Quail Society. I was fortunate to have shared many memories of Seafair and especially Torchlight with Gene during our time working on the Bill Gates residence. I remember being in the parade in the 50's as a Cub Scout, dressed in my coon skin cap, with real CAP shootin' six shooters, firing into the air. Some wild times at the Mayflower in the late 70's, singing pirate ditties at Oneils, after the Lake city parade in the 80's, and the last 5-6 years as the parent of two piccolo players in the All City Band, the oldest, also a 1st year Husky Marching Band member. We've had the pleasure seeing you scallywags in action over the years and would like to say how much we appreciate what you do. Cheers & Thanks, from a button vested Dad, and his two Pic players.
This is a cool site
Many hugs and a huge thank you for coming to my bithday party at the Edgewater. I've never seen such a cute bunch of pirates! Thanks for making it a special evening for me. Each and every one of you were great! This is one birthday that I will never forget!
Greetings, Seattle Seafair Pirates, from New York City's Unofficial Wizard! Of course, I know you too loved the adventure of Captain Jack Sparrow and crew --- so, to celebrate the movie's status as the top-grossing Pirate movie ever (I believe the tally thus far stands at $ 173 million and counting), I have declared your website as my Bonus Link of the Month for August! Huzzah! Besides, I don't think I would enjoy walking the plank again! Anyway, good luck on the Seattle Seafair --- and do try to behave yourselves! As ever, Master Blackwolf
A note to all the pirates that entertained all my children after the torchlight - they haven't stopped talking!!! Thanks again for a great evening!!!
Wow! This is the best Bratz website ever! My best friend Gazey loves the Bratz more than anything! Especially the big ones. All he keeps saying is Big Bratz is the best!
Walter, and the rest of the pirates... Thank you again for the wonderful time on 7/26/03..I was the lady having all the Pirates at the Parade sign my souvenir book...We had a great time at the Parade, and enjoyed hearing about all the things you wonderful men do for all the charities...Keep up the great work, and we will see you soon! Hugs&Kisses!
I have never flogged (paddled) so many pirates at one time. You best be watching your back, for the Waterland Wenches may be right behind you. BEWARE aka Mary Reed
Dear Lady Mary Killigrew, rules and codes are merely just guide lines.
Thanks for allowing our Wenches O' Waterland gals to join in on the fun Sunday at the Des Moines parade. We all had a blast and are already planning for next years raid and outlining our rules and code of conduct. We will definitely have the insurance stuff ironed out so we can run our ship behind ya next year! I love the quote from Bill in last years Pirate magazine "What goes around comes around. Work like you don't need the money. Love like you've never been hurt. Dance like nobody's watching." I hope you don't mind if I use it! Thanks again, Elissa and crew
I think you have a wonderful Davy Jones this year. The fact that he is my son may have something to do with my vote. This is my first year to be aware of you and I think its grand. A good time was had by all!!!!
My heart has always belonged with my hometown Pirates..Especially with Kris. I moved from Seattle in 1986 after a wild night with all you scoundrals.....Hummm
You are GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!11
Arrrrr.
Thanks for the quickie-visit to Pike Place Market Downunder today--you WERE a tad early, tho, and you know how we wenches are about being caught by surprise...! ...... Always glad to see the rascals who could be there; sorry I was not able to give you all a harder time! Forever yours as we sail the seas....(and as I am "homeport" at First & Vine, I'll be watching and waving at the Duck from up above....)
Oh, yes! Jerry is a hottie! Bring it on, Jerry!
Jerry Leupold is a family friend. He is the most hansome pirate I've ever seen!!
I am now thirty years old and I still don't like to hear the sound of the cannon shooting off ahead in the street. All I do know is the pirates are not near as scary as they were 25 years ago when I was little. I would scream and hide under our blanket. They would pretend as if they were going to cut off our feet and other pranks to frighten us. It worked. That was the one part of the parade that made you want to pee your pants. :) My kids are not nearly as frightened as I was and I don't get the same laugh my parents had at me. Not fair! Just wanted to share. :)
i dey here ooooooooooooooooooooo
Ahoy, Lads. I'm kinda a freelance pirate. But, Alas I be missin' a coat. I'm lookin' to make me own, but can't be findin' a bloomin' pattern. So, I was awonderin' if any of ye boys might be knowin' wheres 'tis I would be findin' one. A reply to my E-mail would leave me in your debt, and would be much appreciated. I think your site is great. And I thank ye for your help.
Beth "short wench" Hughes... will have to try to make it down for the Renton Riverdays!! If we make it I'll be watchin out for you so we can terrorize them pirates but good!!!!
Dread Pirate Bonney....I'd welcome the chance to help terrorize those blokes :) I'll be at Renton River days if that works for you :) I'll be the short one with a TON of beads, including my fav pirate treasure.....a plastic medallion with a skull and two crossed swords :) Beth"short wench" hughes
I agree with Beth "short wench" Huhes in regards to the lady Pirates... tho I do think her and I should get together and create a bunch of "scurvy wenches" to harrass them there SeaFair blokes!
Iff'n ya knew how much work these Pirates do you'd know WHY there are no lady Pirates amongst 'em! They sometimes do the work of three men each! If you look at the pics from some of their "special" visits to children, the elderly and the disabled, you will understand it is a full time job and then some to be a Seafair Pirate...now I like a challange as much as the next pirate wench..but let me tell ya..these guys work just as hard as they play..and I doubt many of my fellow wenches could keep up with 'em :) Maybe some day some brave Pirate wench will start a group for us civic minded ladies and we'll be able to go out and work and play just like our beloved Pirates :) Heck, maybe they'd even let us invade the Dukw once in a while..woohoo!!! While I'm waxing poetic here..just wanna say I enjoyed reading the stories about some Pirates candidate years and Davy Jones expeiences..what fun reading..now I'll go to sleep and dream about all your crazy adventures! I look forward to seeing all my Pirate friends at Renton River days and at the Hydroplanes races...til then hav fun at all those other Seafair events :) Loads of hugs and kisses to you all!!!! Beth "short wench" hughes
I doubt it. We're kind of inconspicuous at parades.
Was just looking at the schedule of events for seafair and the times of the parades. Maybe well see some of you there??!!!
I used to live in West Seattl as a child and remember years back when yall scared me to death by pickin me up and taking me down the block a little ways. It has been a memory for me all of my life. I wouldn't change if for the world. You guys are awesome
Good afternoon. Do you know that the Chinatown parade is Sunday the 20th of July. Your calender has Monday the 20th of July. Hope you are having a grand time this summer. See you at the Chinatown Parade! .
To "Pop", "Fido" & "Mongo" ... you said that Naughty Nelson "is a practicing polygamist" ..... what is he practicing for? A test? Can't he get it right? And if he's older than dirt, then we really MUST commend him on having the umpf (at his advanced age) at raising his sail .. but why with more than one lass? Shouldn't he want to share his antique gold with only one special, lustful wench?
I just want to meet the pirate that wears the mermaid. Can you send pictures please?
Who says girl's don't like pirates? And why praytell is it dorky to be interested in history? And not just history, but dirty men, who doesn't like dirty men? Altough I still think a few more dirty women should be thrown into the mix.
It's a dirty lie! We never even touched yer stinky old mule!
you guy's kick ass!
pirates are for boys girls do not like that kind of dorky stuff some girls like them but not me.the end
Really? Gee. Never heard THAT one before (he said rolling his eyes.)
Well.... The way it appears to me is that you lack any female pirates, now why is this. You are aware that two of the most feared pirates that sailed along side Calico Jack are Mary Read and Anne Bonny, aren't you?
More for Curious Lady: Aye! Almost forgot. By popular demand, individual photos of Naughty Nelson and other scurvy bottom feeding Pirates have been posted at your local Post Office and law enforcement agency.
To "Curious Lady": Besides being older than dirt, Naughty Nelson is a practicing polygamist and is now accepting applications. Please forward your resume to "Mongo" care of the Pirates. Enclose a photo. One of your sister, too, ifin yee have one!
We do one book for ourselves and one for the revenuers.
how do you do the books
And I'd like a photo of Naughty Nelson! Is he single?
Walter, I want pictures of Davy Jones! Especially his well sewn backside! Babe
Weren't you going to take individual photos of each of the pirates and make up a "cast of characters" for us to look up our favorite pirates?
Garrett (5 1/2 Years) says, thank for everything at Alki Beach yesterday and Have a great Seafair Summer. We will be on the lookout for another pirate landing soon.
My wife and I took our grandson Jacob to your landing at Alki and had a blast. Thank-you so much. Michael Mengual
The pirates are great! had a good time at the Eagles. It's a 4th of July I'll never forget. For the person who's ear's rang for two hour's, maybe you should stay away from the parades. What would a parade be without the pirates.
I like when the pirates come out with loud noise and bangs and "raid", that's cool! :D
I participated in the Bothell July 4th parade today, 7/4/2003, and after completing it I and others walked backed to our cars. Unfortunatly we walked too close to your Duck firing its cannons. They are way too loud and the impact on my ears was awful. Others watching were complaining, too. Dogs nearby were all upset. My ears, two hours later, are still ringing. Your group may think its funny but trust me it does not leave a good memory. I suggest for future parades you do not fire the cannons unless you are 50 to 100 feet away from the public. Today you were often only 15 to 20 feet away. I feel sorry for your membersd riding or walking in the parade. Too close.
Had a Blast at Hyatt again this year looking forward to next!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Could you forward my e-mail to Walter Please Thanks, Chrystal
CQQL
