The Seattle Seafair Pirates Official Web Site - Pirate Kings of the Northwest since 1949 It's a high-humored heist by the Seattle SEAFAIR Pirates. The salty troupe's shenanigans and formidable float, the Duck, have become synonymous with SEAFAIR revelry. The Pirates, originally members of the Washington State Press Club's Ale & Quail Society, banded together in 1949 to promote Seattle and Seafair while having fun and serving the community. Despite their bad-guy image, the Pirates make dozens of appearances annually to hospitals and nursing homes. During the height of Seattle's SEAFAIR Celebration, they appear at several events and parades each day. The 40+ Pirates are an elite troupe who carefully selects their members based on their ability to mix well with the public and for their unique musical or theatrical talents.

Hi Gang!!!!! Just wanted to drop you all a note to say how FABULOUS the halloween party was!!! It was fun seeing all of you outside of a Seafair event! Thanks to your wonderful Capt. for getting all(well most all) of you together for an awesome photo with me at the end of the party. It was the highlight of my night(along with my photo with the Firefighters from the Firefighter calendar...they're HOT!) Now I have a nice momento of my evening dressed as a petite purple princess :) See you all at the Special Peoples Cruise in December! THANKS AGAIN!! YOU GUYS ROCK!!! Believing is easy when you live a ghost story. Pirates are more real than people want to know. As for Fairies they are harder to believe in because you can be never sure if you have met one. But I still believe in faries. I do I do.

I don't have a problem with Tinkerbell. I think that fairies have a place in the world. I just don't think that place is on a back of one of my crew. A prudent captain would believe that this was a mutinous act....

Ay Mates, Just wanted to say hello. I am a real descendant of Erik the Red... Norweigan heritage. I would love to become a Pirate with all of you, but I also have five kids and I do not have every Wednesday and weekend off to carry out my duties as a Pirate. Is there any way to allow someone like me to attend without the every Wednesday and weekend commitment? If so, I'm there with you right now. I've been wanting this since the very early sixties. Thanks for all you all do. I would very proud to call myself a SEAFAIR PIRATE.

thanks for all the nice pictures, and for getting them on website so fast. My only complaint is there are two pictures with a pirate giving someone the "finger" and I think that's not a picture that needs to be on site. The picture is Torchlight and Greenwood. I think his name is "Junior". thanks again a pirate fan

I remember, being a child living in Alki, and coming out of the store. I was suddenly accosted by a gang of rowdy, loud, and boisterous men...PIRATES! I screamed and ran for my mom. When she found out that it was the Pirates that were "attacking" her daughter, she laughed and explained to me that these PIrates were GOOD Pirates. The year was 1984, and I was 8 years old. Now, it's 2004, and I am 28. Twenty years ago, I was "mauled" by the Seafair Pirates. To this day, I never miss them at Seafair, if I can help it. I always look forward to meeting the new Pirates and again seeing the "old timers." I still have the 1983/84 button from that day in front of that tiny store. And I have the 2003 lapel pin (Dead Ear Dick). It's only fitting. Thank you guys for being as wonderful now as you were then. And thanks for the warm memories. Blessings, Angela (Thai)

I think your website is very nice but you should include more picture of different drill team like the The Greenwood Star Steppers, The Greenwood Steppers, The Chinse Drill Team, The baby Dangerattes, or even Sweet Mahogony . Well that's just me because I am also in a drill team too , but I'll see you next year again!!!!
