I met some of the Pirates in Grand Cayman at Pirates week one rainy night on October 28, 2005 ... Hiya! I love the seafair pirates! They are so cool! I had the best time being privilaged enough to have been able to go on the "Moby Duck" in two parades now and watched from the sidelines as the pirates were in the 05' Torchlight Parade. I decked myself out in pirate gear and it was cool that some of the pirates recogonized me in the sidelines from the parade that I had been in with them previously. The pirates are a cool group and it almost makes me jelous that I can never join the seafair pirates myself. It was fun getting teased by the pirates, even though a couple tried to be all tough and intimadating. I could see right past them and knew that they are just trying to mess with my head. I'm glad to have met Rick, aka: "The Spider Man", and hope to be able to join in another parade soon. :D - Stephanie "Pirate G rl" Matthews P.S - The i fell off. ^ ;)

I brought my son to the Pirates Landing today (Sat. July 9th) at Alki Beach, and I want to say what a fabulous time he had! Even with the delay of having to move down the beach for the pirates to depart the boat, everyone still had a great time. I also want to say a BIG THANK YOU to the "Captain" for going to say hello right away to a young boy in a wheel chair. I found out later that he really made that little boys day! Thank you for helping me start a tradition with my son to go and greet the pirates at Alki Beach for years to come!

I grew up in West Seattle. And it was always a tradition to go down and greet the pirates. Thank you so much for keeping that tradition. The city wouldn't be the same without you!!!

yarr maties. i was happenin' to be in the parkinglot of the air and space museum (2002) in line to go on a tour of a plane when this ship on wheels came about. none of my other ship mates saw it comin, but we all jumped a mile when the guns and cannons went off, especially my mom! I grew up in seattle and marched in parades for many years as a baton twirler. My fondest memories have always been of Seafair and the Pirates-way back when a pirate named Casey befriended a little girl and would make sure he found me at all the parades. I live in Vancouver WA and work at Westfield Shoppingtown-for a fun event we are planning a pirate day July 28th and I immediately thought of the Seafair Pirates-if only you lived closer-it would be so awesome to have some of the pirates visit Vanocuver. Thanks for the memories.

I think you pirates looked sooo hot last year at the landing at Alki. I'm 25 and go every year. Any of you single? The whole pirate thing is hot!
