SEATTLE - Metal thieves have plundered the popular Seafair Pirates and their famed ship, the "Moby Duck."

Seattle Police are investigating who stripped copper wiring and stole six custom-made cannon barrels from the ship.

The Pirates say the cannons were made out of 4-inch rigid conduit and plated with 24-karat gold.

The total cost to replace the cannons is approximately $3,500.

The cannons on the "Moby Duck" were made out of four-inch rigid conduit and plated in 24 karat gold.

The ship was stored in a donated warehouse in Downtown Seattle. The Pirates say copper thieves had dismantled wiring throughout the building and stripped the wiring off the Moby Duck.

Repairs are almost done on the wiring, but the cannons are still gone.

If you see these cannon barrels, or have information regarding the vandalism of the Seafair Pirates ship, you're asked to contact Pirate Central at (206) 365-1590 or Detective John Crumb with the Seattle Police Department at (206) 684-5728.
