Pirates and Seafair and SI swimsuit models? Oh, my

Seafair Pirates + Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. Surprised? So were we. Casey McNerthney has the story, and some photographic booty. Arrr ...

Picture

For months, the Web has been buzzing with speculation on where models for the 2008 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition were photographed. When it hit news stands Tuesday, enquiring minds learned that model Melissa Haro was on the Cayman Islands -- with the Seafair Pirates behind her.

The Pirates were in Grand Cayman, an area south of Cuba, for Pirates Week when they came in contact with a Sports Illustrated staffer. (Check out the whole story here)

The Indianapolis Star reports that 250 million people are expected to view Swimsuit Edition photos online, with another 69 million checking out the print edition.

For those of you who haven't yet seen the pictures, here's 1, 2, 3, 4 shots of Haro and the Pirates.
